Parents Put Baby in Carryon Luggage

Authorities at the United Arab Emirates say that at the Sharjah International Airport, Egyptian parents had put their baby in a carryon to avoid a two-day wait for the baby's visa.

The parents had no visa, passport or any other documents and were told that they had to wait at the airport for two days while papers were filed. Apparently, the impatient father persuaded the mother to put their baby in the carry on.

While clearing security, the x-ray revealed a baby was in the carryon luggage.

WHAT. THE. HELL.

Ok, I've travelled in my days, and I even think twice about leaving my laptop in a carryon because you're supposed to take it out of your luggage and put it in the nice bins provided for you at the security clearance. You have to take off your shoes (so nasty) and try not to look like a convict.
Yes, waiting two days at the airport sucks, but with no official documents for your child, what were you expecting? Clearly, the baby isn't a national threat, it drools, poops, eats and sleeps all day. What harm could a baby do other than sleepless nights?

Regardless, everyone is required to have proper documentation when travelling.
Wouldn't you rather wait two days than to put your baby in a luggage and for it to go through xray? It's dangerous for anyone, let alone a baby.

People these days...
