Police Brutality, No Jailtime

In May of 2009, Police Officer of Rhode Island, Edward Krawetz, kicked a woman he had arrested (Donna Levesque) while she was handcuffed and sitting on a curb.

Predictable: Krawetz said it was self defence. Why? Because, he claims, Levesque kicked his leg. You know what would've been smart? MOVE.
If she kicked his leg, why didn't he just move out of her reach? She's handcuffed there isn't much she could do considering she was also under the influence, and if she could, you charge her for assault on a police officer, you don't kick the woman. DUH.

Krawetz was given a 10 year suspension, however, there is a petition going around for a push for Krawetz to be fired and given a harsher sentence.

Without an example set by the government and police department on police brutality, it is stunningly becoming an awareness that police brutality is maintained and even encouraged because authorities are turning the other cheek.

We hear about police brutality in the news all the time, yet, what is the harshest punishment given? What do you think would have been the punishment if it was a civilian on another civilian?

Exactly.
